JEE Advanced 2019 to be Conducted by IIT Roorkee

In this article, we’ll talk about the important details that you should know about JEE Advanced.

 

JEE Advanced is a national level entrance exam which is conducted by different zonal IITs with guidance from the Joint Admission Board (JAB) once in a year.

For candidates seeking admission to bachelor’s programmes, integrated master’s programmes as well as dual degree programmes, JEE advanced is the gateway to 23 IITs and Indian School of Mines (ISM) in India. Only the top 2.4 lakh rank holders are eligible to appear for 2019 examination.

Advanced 2019 will be conducted on May 19, 2019, by IIT Roorkee across 155 cities in India and 6 cities abroad in fully computer-based test mode.

 

Performance in JEE Main 2019

In JEE Main 2019, candidates who fall among the top 2.4 lakh rankers across all categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Out of this number, here’s the required percentage required under different categories.

Age Limit

For General or OBC-NCL category candidates, the age limit for JEE Advanced states that aspirants will be eligible to apply for the entrance exam if they are born on or after October 1, 1993. However, the age limit for other reserved categories such as SC, ST or PWD category states that aspirants will get 5 years of relaxation and must be born on or after October 1, 1988.

 

Number of Attempts

For JEE Advanced 2019, the exam eligibility states that candidates would be able to appear for this examination a maximum of two times in his/her lifetime. Here, all the aspirants need to ensure that they appear for this entrance exam in consecutive years.

 

Appearance in Class 12th

For this engineering examination, candidates can appear if they have appeared for their Class XII or equivalent exam in 2019 or 2020. In addition, it is important for candidates to ensure that this should be their first attempt in all the subjects they have opted in Class XII or equivalent.

 

The process of JEE Advanced 2019

 

JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern

Talking about the exam pattern, eligible candidates had to appear for two entrance examinations, namely Paper-1 and Paper-2. Each of these papers will be three hours long. While Paper-1 will be conducted from 9 am to 12 pm, Paper-2 will be held on the same day from 2 pm to 5 pm. It is mandatory for candidates to attempt both papers.

Paper-1 and Paper-2 will be comprised of three separate sections wherein questions are asked from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be negative marking for some questions.  

 

JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Results

Coming to the JEE Advanced 2019, it will be announced in the month of June 2019. To check JEE Advanced 2019 results, candidates will have to enter their registration number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID.

 

JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card

The admit cards for JEE Advanced 2019 examination will be available for download on the official website of the exam from May 2019. Applicants who have successfully registered for this engineering exam can download the exam admit cards.
